Whether you want to forge your knife or use stock removal methods or both, we can help guide you.
3D Design and Printing "Software"
Experience some of the free online programs that are good for most purposes. We are considering including Fusion 360. If you have an idea, we can first show you how to design your end product.
3D Printing , "Hardware"
We have one old but functional Iprussa and an old Mendel reprap (was being upgraded) that we will be cannibalized to provide some of the parts to build a Much bigger printer.
Milling Machine - Bridgeport
Old and used hard, but she is ours. We are just getting to know her and to learn her ways. I have already used it for a couple of projects - other than cleaning it up.
Lathe - Sheldon
The lathe has been around for a while, but we have been misusing it something awful. The more I learn, the less I know. But, I have learned a lot and as always, I like to teach what I know.
Forges
We have three of these monsters: one homemade, double burner propane tank. One commercial, farriers, forge with two burners. One DIY propane tank that we only use for forge welding with flux.
Foundry Furnace
It has been sitting waiting for a new burner (the one I had) found feet. The quarantine has given me lots of time to accomplish projects that have lain fallow for far too long.
Power Hammer
forge built this one in 1932. I got it about ten years ago, when I rebuilt it. Pink with black lubrication stripes, she really likes to dance. Her name is Dali.
Hydraulic Press.
This the most recent acquisition, is a home built Hydraulic Press that John P. brought in, then rebuilt. Soon we will have the tooling to make hammers and tongs on the Press and Power-hammer.
Welders (and a plasma cutter)
We have two Mig welders, and an Oxy-Acetelyne set up. We also have some air, only acetylene systems that are good for jewelry making.
Bench Tools
Grinders, Belt Sanders, Buffing wheels, Drill presses. Jewelers roll Mill.
