Virtual Attendance
If would you like to attend a writing group and can't be there physically? Join us over the internet, it is easy, and I would be glad to walk you through the process. With luck, I will have answered your questions below. It is not perfect, but those who have participated this way have expressed deep satisfaction in the process. And if you want just to chat, let me know, then follow the directions below.
What do you need? An internet connection with relatively fast bandwidth (can you stream movies, if so, you are probably fine).
- A laptop or desktop computer that has a camera and sound system (most do these days).
- A relatively quiet environment where you can write without interruption - remember you won't be alone, we can see and hear whatever the camera sees.
- I would suggest you have a headset, wired or Bluetooth, that you can use during the group, there is occasionally a problem with feedback if you don't have one.
How does it work?
- First and foremost, if you haven't joined us this way, let me know you want to give it a go, and I can walk you through the process - please don't just show up during a group.
- When you are ready, click the link below and follow the directions. You do Not have to download the app. As host, you will be attending using my account.
- Below is a copy of the email you might receive if you request a link. When it comes up in your browser, you will be asked if you want to launch the application - click "Launch,"
- The email also shows several other ways that you might want to join. Be sure to know what charges, if any, your carrier might assess if you choose to use the phone in numbers.
- If you are ready, click the link that follows or the one on the email and Zoom on in.
